Call for Nominations: 2019-2020 Board of Directors

SMPS Kansas City is now accepting nominations for positions on the Board of Directors for the term beginning September 1, 2019.

Nominations may be submitted by an individual (self-nominations are the most common method) or by a petition. Petition nominations must be signed by a minimum of 30 percent of the chapter membership. 

Nominations must be submitted using the form below by 5pm on Friday, May 24.

Eligibility

To qualify for a position on the SMPSKC Board of Directors, all candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a current SMPS member in good standing
  • Have the endorsement of your firm
  • Be committed to attending board meetings and chapter events 

Board Positions

President-Elect
The President-Elect is a voting member of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee. The President-Elect assists the president in overseeing the board and serves as an additional resource for all positions and committees. In the absence of the President, the President-Elect shall preside at meetings of the Chapter, the Board of Directors, or the Executive Committee. When acting as President, the President-Elect shall have all the powers of and be subject to all the restrictions upon the President. To be eligible for election as President-Elect, the individual must have served on the Board of Directors for one year.

Secretary
The Secretary is a voting member of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee. The Secretary shall collect board reports, assemble the board meeting presentation, and record and distribute meeting minutes.

Treasurer
The Treasurer is a voting member of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee. The Treasurer is ultimately responsible for the fiscal management and financial integrity of the Chapter. Two-year term.

Committee Chairs are responsible for soliciting and overseeing active committee volunteers, assisting with planning goals and activities, and for the end result of their committee. Click here for descriptions of each of the committees below.
